The tables on this page use data from level 3 weapon knowledge or the appraisals of a blacksmith.

  • Damage shows the damage dice used to calculate damage, and the effect if it has one;
  • Time shows how quickly the item takes to attack with, lower is faster;
  • vs. Large columns gives extra damage against large monsters.

Damage is calculated as a dice roll. For example, a 2d6+d4+3 damage weapon will roll two six-sided dice, then roll one four-sided dice, then finally add three to calculate weapon damage. The weapon damage is then added to skill and stat damage bonus.

Stat bonus damage is calculated based on the type of attack made. There are two types, dexterity focused attacks (sneak, suprise, throws, bows) and strength focused attacks (all other melee). The calculations are as follows:

DEX: (DEX * 2 + STR) / 3

STR: (STR * 3 + DEX) / 4

The resulting number is then placed into this table:

Next, skill bonus is added, according to this table. Skill level is compared against the skill required of the weapon. If it is less, will suffer a -2 penalty to damage. Otherwise, it is the value on the table.

Finally, calculate total damage by adding the weapon damage, stat damage bonus, and the skill damage bonus. Enchantments add +1 to damage and to hit for each level. To hit an enemy, roll a d20 + hit bonus, and if it exceeds their AC, a hit. All knives have +2 to hit. Calculate hit bonus from stats using these tables. Ignore strength and double dexterity if using a ranged weapon.

Calculate hit bonus from skills using these this table. If the skill required for the weapon is 2 or greater and doesn't meet the skill requirements, the bonus is calculated through this equation instead:

-4 - (SkillLevelRequired - SkillLevel) * 3

Example: If attacking with an Excalibur (requires skill level 3) but only had skill level 1, I would solve -4 - (3 - 1) * 3 = -10

Unidentified arrows have the same name as identified arrows.

Legendary weapons can show their unidentified name at the same time that the base weapon is showing it's identified name. This makes for easy legendary identification. For instance, to identify Certus, one may cast identify on the first bladed bow one finds. All bladed bows will now be displayed as battle bow except Certus which will still display as a bladed bow.
