The other effects are the ability to store spells, even ones you have forgotten, and identify glass. 

A +0 staff will be hold three charges of the spell, but recharge when wielded over time. These spells require no mana to cast.

Any positive enchantment give another charge, so a +5 staff holds 8 charges. They hold a maximum of 8 charges.

It can identify glass by binding an unidentified gem to it and casting a spell. If it is a piece of glass, it will shatter doing a few points of damage. It seems you are unable to place portal stones in staves.

Charging:Edit

A staff of light recharges faster in bright areas and if a light spell is bound to the staff.
