The firestone when dropped creates an expanding red sphere around it until a certain size. Any creature who walks into its parameter will trigger an explosion with the message "KABOOM!" causing heavy damage (40+). The explosion can pass through doors and walls. A firestone can be disarmed by picking it up before it detonates.

Binding[]
Binding a firestone to a staff has peculiar results. The firestone will explode and damage/kill everything surrounding the player, but curiously will not damage the player.

Tips[]
- Caution! If the character is more than a few steps away from a firestone when it is dropped it will likely detonate before it can be picked up;
- If the player finds themselves trapped between a dead end and a firestone that cannot be safely recovered, it is best to rest until a monster appears and detonates the firestone to remove the obstacle;
- A pet can be sent to fetch the firestone. It will detonate and probably kill the pet, but it will clear the way for you to proceed;
- If the player accidently blocks their path with a firestone bubble and they have no methods of safely detonating it, don't panic. The firestone will wear out of energy after a certain amount of time. As long as additional charges remain, the firestone can be picked up and used again; otherwise, it will act like just a regular gem;
- An active fire stone is unaffected by a wand of cancellation.
