The master lich is a undead spellcaster found near the lowest levels of the dungeon. It can summon undead minions and gradually summons more, which if not dispatched quickly, may eventually become too numerous to be dealt with. Once slain, the master lich will disappear leaving only the items it has on it.

- Grey robe (always worn, +3 enchantment);
- Potion of mana (always carried, 4 potions);
- Chance to wield a wand of death, with 3-8 charges;
- Chance to drop a blob of of master lich goo.
Traits[]
- Alignment: Neutral;
- Attack: Chokes, melee damage. Inflicts choking;
- Magic: Energizes much quicker;
- Magic: Casts raise the dead to summon undead minions;
- Movement: Can control teleportation;
- Resistance: Some magic.
Tips[]
- Polymorphing into a master lich will permanently grant the player the raise the dead and drain life spells;
- The master lich is not immune to cold, although most of the undead minions usually. This makes it feasible to use a wand of cold, freezing it and making the kill easier. This can be easier than using polymorph, since polymorphing items are rarer and the wands of polymorph come with fewer charges (usually);
- Master lichs can be tamed with ordinary food. They will not need to eat and continue to cast raise the dead, apparently without mesmerization timeout, making them a powerful if annoying ally capable of spawning hundreds of additional followers.
