Deaf(ness) is a status effect that only exists with certain creatures (e.g. molds). It grants immunity towards the mesmerising effect from a lute of charming or the confusion and/or sleep effects from a harp of lullabies. It may also grant immunity to pets from the teleportation effects of a magic whistle.
